Your books. Closed by day five. Every month.
DayFive is your fully automated back office. Your bookkeeping runs 24/7 — while you sleep, we reconcile — and your monthly close lands by business day 5, with five insights in plain English. Every number independently double-checked.
Always on. Never late. No meetings needed.
- Bank-grade security
- Always-on automation
- Every number double-checked
- Flat monthly price
Your bookkeeper closes your books three weeks late and tells you nothing.
Your accountant charges by the hour and answers by Friday. You deserve better math.
How it works
Three steps.
- 1
Order online.
Sign electronically, connect your bank, send us last month. Twenty minutes, start to finish. No discovery call. No proposal. No calendar links.
- 2
Forward us the mess.
Email receipts to docs@getdayfive.com. Snap photos of invoices. Or change nothing — if you already use QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite, we work inside YOUR system. Shoebox or ERP, we swallow it all.
- 3
Day five: your numbers, explained.
Every month, by the fifth business day: clean financials plus a one-page summary in plain English — five insights, ranked, each one actionable. Not “revenue was $62,340.” Instead: “Your card fees grew 19% while revenue grew 8% — here’s the script for the call to your processor.”

What lands in your inbox
Here’s the actual thing. Have a poke around.
Riverside Plumbing is made up — a fictional shop in Paramus — but nothing else on these pages is. The statements foot, the balance sheet balances, and every insight quotes a number you can go and find on another page. This is what shows up on the fifth business day.

The 24/7 part
While your old bookkeeper works banker’s hours, DayFive works all of them.

Our automated systems categorize, reconcile, and chase what’s missing through the night — every number independently double-checked and reviewed before it reaches you. Ask your books anything, any hour: “Can I afford to hire in October?” gets a real answer at 11pm, from your actual numbers.
11:04 PM · you
Can I afford to hire a second on-call tech in October?
11:04 PM · DayFive
Yes, with room to spare. A second on-call tech at $68K fully loaded costs $5,670 a month. Your after-hours line ran a 61% margin in July, so breakeven is nine extra calls a month — you averaged twenty-three. Cash dips to $196K on September 12 and recovers by the 30th, so October is the right month to start, not September.

Ask us anything
Always on. Always included.
The old firms give you one hour a month, scheduled two weeks out, billed by the minute. DayFive gives you all the hours. Ask anything, any day, any time — “can I afford a second van?”, “why did materials jump?” — and get a real answer from your actual numbers, usually within hours, often within minutes. No appointment, no clock running, no invoice for talking to us. Questions aren’t billable events here; they’re the service.

Who we serve
Any business that runs on its numbers — which is every business. Contractors, agencies, e-commerce, healthcare practices, restaurants, logistics, professional services, nonprofits, childcare centers — solo operators to companies with a full finance stack. If you have transactions, we can run your back office; if you already have systems and a bookkeeper you love, we can still be your FP&A department — budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, and a scoreboard — on top of whatever you run today.
Any starting point. Shoebox of receipts, tidy QuickBooks, sprawling NetSuite: we meet your books where they are, in your system or ours.
Fluency where it counts: job costing and percentage-of-completion for project workretainers, deposits, and deferred revenueinventory and COGSpayout and processor reconciliation (Stripe, Square, marketplaces)class and location tracking for multi-site operationscash or accrual, and the switch between them when your business outgrows one. Whatever your industry calls its numbers, we speak it.
Security
- Bank-level encryption in transit and at rest
- Professional liability insurance on every engagement
- Your data never trains AI models or leaves our controlled pipeline
- Every automated entry carries an audit trail

- Read-only bank connections via Plaid — we can see, never move
About
DayFive was built on a simple observation: small businesses get the worst financial service money can buy — slow, expensive, and silent. So we built the back office we’d want to own: always-on automation for speed and availability, professional oversight on every number, and a promise in the name. Your books, by day five.
Questions
The honest six.
My books are a mess — months behind, maybe years. Can you fix that?
That's our favorite starting point. Send what you have — statements, shoeboxes, a neglected QuickBooks — and we'll bring everything current, fast. Catch-up is quoted flat per backlog month before we start, so there are no surprises. Most businesses are looking at clean, current books within days, not weeks.
How much of my time does this take each month?
About twenty minutes to get started — then almost none. Forward receipts as they come (or don't; bank feeds catch most of it), answer the occasional one-line question from us, and read your close on day five. You run the business; the books stop being your second job.
Do I have to switch accounting software?
No. Keep QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite — we work inside it. No system at all? We host QuickBooks for you, included.
Do you do taxes?
We prepare everything your tax preparer needs and partner with licensed EAs/CPAs for filing. Your books will be the cleanest they've ever received.
What if I have a problem or an urgent question?
Write to us — any hour, any day. Answers come fast and in writing, usually within hours, often within minutes. And written answers work harder: you can re-read them, forward them to your partner or your banker, and act on them without waiting for anyone's calendar.
Can I really cancel anytime?
Yes. Month to month. Your data exports in one click. We keep clients with day-five closes, not contracts.
